This online course will examine the value and importance of diversity in the workplace. Staying organized is one of the most important life skills a professional can master. This course will help participants identify traits of their personal organizational style, in terms of space and time. Time management tips and techniques will be identified along with well known  “time eaters” . Participants will also learn about keeping office and personal space organized to best utilize their style, goal setting methods, why goals fail and trying to achieve that elusive work-live balance. Finally, the course will touch on technology, both hardware and software, that can be used to the participants benefit.

Assertiveness Training

This course will explore ways to become more assertive without being aggressive. It will also examine why we should be assertive and addresses the reasons why our culture sometimes teaches us to be less assertive. Students will come away with a good grounding in both verbal and nonverbal assertion techniques, basic negotiation and an understanding of stress and anger and a few techniques to alleviate them.

Deal With Difficult People

This online course will explore methods and approaches to dealing with difficult people in the workplace. Course topics include Defining "Difficult", The Bully and How to Regain Your Dignity or Work Should NOT hurt!, An Introduction to Basic Coping Skills, Problem Bosses and Could the Problem be ME? and special section on dealing with the public.

 

Students will be able to define what is meant by "difficult people" and will be able to understand patterns of difficult behavior.  

Building the Ethical Organization

This course will explore the concepts and roots of the ethics and morals and expose the participant to the plain speaking definition of ethics. Ethics in a organizational context will be examined including motivators for unethical behavior, identification of the three types of ethical practitioners, common terms and definitions in ethics and the principals for building and ethical organizational.

 

The purpose of this course is to provide the participant with the basic concepts behind the governmental ethics.  Students who participate in this course will be able to guide their municipalities toward ethical practices and procedures.

Conflict Resolution

This online course will give participants a solid overview of why conflict in the workplace happens and how to resolve it. Students will come away from this seminar with a good working knowledge of the possible outcomes of conflict and how to facilitate conflict resolution in their own workplace. Important skills in conflict resolution will be covered and the student will have the opportunity to assess their own strengths and weaknesses in this area.

Running Effective Meetings

This online course will prepare participants for organizing, preparing and running effective meetings.  The course will examine why we need an effective meeting process, what makes a meeting effective and productive, how to run an effective meeting, the Four Phase of effective meetings, roles and differences between a meeting facilitator and a meeting chairman, how to facilitate a meeting an dealing with meeting disrupters.

 

Participants will be able to identify effective meeting techniques, learn the skills, tips and techniques for planning and executing effective and productive workplace meetings.  Participants will also learn how to develop an effective meeting agenda and follow up notes and minutes.
